“Cliff Dwellers” Homestead Under The Vermilion Cliffs, AZ

Not quite the Native American ruins I expected, yet one of the coolest sites ever – a random group of crazy carved boulder-like rock formations around which little Pueblo-style rooms were built in the 1920s. The name comes from location under the incredible Vermilion Cliffs which form the Arizona/Utah border for miles and miles.

It’s interesting – Everyone knows how the Grand Canyon totally blocks north-south travel across northern Arizona. But if you try driving north around the right side, you immediately get blocked by the Vermilion Cliffs and wind up driving left again for nearly the same distance!
